Often far more information than necessary is collected, uploaded and stored indefinitely. Aside name and date of birth, this information can include the child’s browsing history, search terms, location data, contact lists, as well as behavioral information.:5 Parents are not informed or, if informed, have little choice.:6 According to the report, this constant surveillance resulting from educational technology can “warp children’s privacy expectations, lead them to self-censor, and limit their creativity”.:7

In that sense technological innovations are similar to legislative acts or political foundings that establish a framework for public order that will endure over many generations. (p. 29)

All of us have experienced dry, boring, painful eLearning. My answer, or at least part of it, is that eLearning designers and developers have very few good examples to reference. can all be mimicked in eLearning very directly and built as part of a story or an environment.
