Other specifications such as Schools Framework[citation needed] allow for the transporting of learning objects, or for categorizing metadata (LOM).

Using online resources such as Khan Academy or TED Talks can help students spend more time on specific aspects of what they may be learning in school, but at home. Schools like MIT have made certain course materials free online.[152] Although some aspects of a classroom setting are missed by using these resources, they are helpful tools to add additional support to the educational system.
