We analyzed Elearning.uwf.edu page load time and found that the first response time was 282 ms and then it took 1.1 sec to load all DOM resources and completely render a web page. This is quite a good result, as only 20% of websites can load faster.

What we need to consider about the computer has nothing to do with its efficiency as a teaching tool. We need to know in what ways it is altering our conception of learning, and how in conjunction with television, it undermines the old idea of school.

With this in mind, the article focuses on the workflow I use when I create my eLearning courses.   My eLearning courses begin life on paper (where I’ve sketched some ideas).   When it comes to eLearning development, I use PowerPoint as my “heavy hitter.”

If you uncheck the box for “Let Students See Their Quiz Responses” at the end of the semester or review period, then they will not be able to see the quiz questions or their answers.  They will only be able to see their quiz grade.  This is best practice if you prefer not to have the potential of tests being shared between semesters. eLearning (elearning.uwf.edu) is the learning management system used for online courses at UWF.  Whether your course is fully-online, blended or face-to-face, many instructors use eLearning to provide access to course resources, activities, assessments and grades. You may have used eLearning in other classes and have probably noticed that not all online courses are alike. There are some basic things that you should know to find your way around eLearning and how to get help when you need it, in order to be a successful online learner.

Synchronous learning refers to the exchange of ideas and information with one or more participants during the same period. Examples are face-to-face discussion, online real-time live teacher instruction and feedback, Skype conversations, and chat rooms or virtual classrooms where everyone is online and working collaboratively at the same time. Since students are working collaboratively, synchronized learning helps students create an open mind because they have to listen and learn from their peers. Synchronized learning fosters online awareness and improves many students’ writing skills.[59]
