The display of quiz statistics currently has a limit of 10,000 data points. After the 10,000 mark, the quiz statistics display will not load. For example, if you have a course with 300 students and they are taking an exam with 50 questions, that is 15,000 data points. You will not be able to view the quiz statistics in the browser, though you can still download the excel spreadsheet. We have also found that if you are close to that 10,000 point threshold (e.g. over 9,000), quiz statistics may intermittently not load.
Even though eLearning is not a new concept, those who favor ILT are not convinced that online training is effective at producing the desired outcomes. So, here are several reasons why eLearning really does work for learners. If you’re still not sold on eLearning, try a blended approach.

The only reason to limit someone to a section is if you are purposely trying to make sure that person only sees certain students in the course and not others, for example, if you want a TA to only be able to grade specific students. In that case, you’d have to manually create a section, put the students and the TA in it and limit the TA to the section. Students would be in their registrar section AND in the section you created. You would also need to enroll the TA to the INIT section and limit to that section as well, or you won’t be able to communicate with that TA!
A look at the advantages, disadvantages, and underlying purpose of social media in the classroom. When hosting an online course, it makes sense to make the best use of all the resources the Internet has to offer. Social media is among the most prominent of these resources , and there’s a strong temptation for many online educators to find creative ways to use it in their course. There’s nothing wrong with that, so long as it has a purpose. MORE

Computer-aided assessment (e-assessment) ranges from automated multiple-choice tests to more sophisticated systems. With some systems, feedback can be geared towards a student’s specific mistakes or the computer can navigate the student through a series of questions adapting to what the student appears to have learned or not learned. Formative assessment sifts out the incorrect answers, and these questions are then explained by the teacher. The learner then practices with slight variations of the sifted out questions. The process is completed by summative assessment using a new set of questions that only cover the topics previously taught.

Collaborative learning is a group-based learning approach in which learners are mutually engaged in a coordinated fashion to achieve a learning goal or complete a learning task. Many app developers and education experts have been exploring smartphone and tablet apps as a medium for collaborative learning.
By Phil Hanyok, COTP. Every quarter, employees gather in the cafeteria for town hall meetings. The tables are removed, and seats are placed in neat rows. No matter how enticing these new ideas might be, we are always (rightly) concerned about adoption. MORE
