A virtual learning environment (VLE), also known as a learning platform, simulates a virtual classroom or meetings by simultaneously mixing several communication technologies. Web conferencing software enables students and instructors to communicate with each other via webcam, microphone, and real-time chatting in a group setting. Participants can raise hands, answer polls or take tests. Students are able to whiteboard and screencast when given rights by the instructor, who sets permission levels for text notes, microphone rights and mouse control.

A learning content management system (LCMS) is software for author content (courses, reusable content objects). An LCMS may be solely dedicated to producing and publishing content that is hosted on an LMS, or it can host the content itself. If you are unsure which sections you are teaching for your upcoming course, please go to Student Admin and log in (if prompted). Under Course Mgmt on the left hand side navigation panel, choose Class Rolls. You can see the courses you are teaching and the section numbers associated with the course there.
If this is a Development Course for future semesters, once you are ready for the course to be changed for the correct semester, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org asking that the course be changed and include the correct section numbers for the term the course will be used in. The title of the course will be changed to the normal course naming convention which is ABC1234: 1821, Summer 2013 and the section numbers will be verified and then added to the course. You will receive an email once the change has been made.
Once your course has been created (usually within 24 hours, but will take longer if you are having content migrated from e-Learning or it is close to the beginning of the semester), you will receive an email informing you that the course has been created.
