The design of e-learning platforms in ways that enable universal access has received attention from several directions, including the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). WAI provides universal formatting standards for websites so they can remain accessible to people with disabilities. For example, developing or adopting e-learning material can enable accessibility for people with visual impairment. The Perkins School for the Blind offers learning resources tailored for the visually impaired, including webcasts, webinars, downloadable science activities, and an online library that has access to over 40,000 resource materials on blindness and deaf blindness.

The users of the UF Exchnage have calendar access as well as directory, improve spam control, to do lists, reminders, and support for a wide variety of mobile devices, so that it is easily accesible to all the users. The email addresses which the users are using currently can be used in the UF exchange as well.
Users are currently unable to login to eLearning at this time. The university’s LDAP (authentication) servers are down. The workaround is to view quiz data by sections (i.e. filter section) so that the data points being displayed fall under the 10,000 point threshold. Additionally, if you have one large section in your course, you may want to create sections in myUFL and add students to them to view quiz statistics.

Social networking sites are virtual communities for people interested in a particular subject to communicate by voice, chat, instant message, video conference, or blogs. The National School Boards Association found that 96% of students with online access have used social networking technologies, and more than 50% talk online about schoolwork. Social networking encourages collaboration and engagement and can be a motivational tool for self-efficacy amongst students.
