eLearning is back up and users are now able to log in. Our LMS Tech team is working with Blackboard to determine the cause of the issue, and Blackboard engineers continue to closely monitor the system. The only software that I am aware of that UTD uses that is even remotely “monitoring” is the LockDown Web Browser which students have to use when they’re taking an online quiz at the Testing Center. But it is mostly just an enforced whitelist. Other software is in use too such as TurnItIn (used to check for plagiarism).
myUFL has few brower requirements, such as the browsers that are provided by the vendor as certified for use with myUFL. If your browser (or version of that browser) is not officially certified for use with myUFL, most functionality should work as expected; however, it is possible that some features may not.
Tomorrow morning (Friday, December 1st), between 1-5am CST (early morning), Blackboard will perform emergency maintenance at their datacenter that hosts UTD’s eLearning environment. Blackboard anticipates no interruption in service as a result of the work; however, they cannot entirely rule out brief periods of intermittent connectivity. We strongly recommend against users taking online exams during this four-hour window of time. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com. Thank you.
If you’re really afraid then just run eLearning on a webpage in a virtual machine so it will seem like you never even leave the webpage when in reality you can do whatever you want outside the virtual machine. That would work even if eLearning really could monitor your activities in other tabs and see if it’s your active tab

It is conceivable that someone at UTD is monitoring every logged-in account (in a lab, VPN, or CometNet) and checking for any network traffic to do-my-homework.com, but I’ve never heard of it. It would probably also result in extensive legal actions (since UTD is run by the state there would be 4th amendment concerns), which I’ve never heard of.

The instructor will be added automatically If you need more than five additional users.
Even if the system creates the rosters automatically you will not receive an email letting you know that the roster has been created until the LSS Staff member manually sends the email. This happens only during regular business hours.
If you click on the red tab, you will be directed to log in. If you have already authenticated and are able to access the Libraries’ resources, the homepage will look like this, with a green access tab:
Blackboard (UTD’s eLearning vendor) will perform maintenance to the datacenter on Friday, July 22, from 1-5am CDT. A virtual learning environment (VLE), also known as a learning platform, simulates a virtual classroom or meetings by simultaneously mixing several communication technologies. conferencing software enables students and instructors to communicate with each other via webcam, microphone, and real-time chatting in a group setting. Participants can raise hands, answer polls or take tests. Students are able to whiteboard and screencast when given rights by the instructor, who sets permission levels for text notes, microphone rights and mouse control.
Once your course has been created (usually within 24 hours, but will take longer if you are having content migrated from e-Learning or it is close to the beginning of the semester), you will receive an email informing you that the course has been created.
Some instructors choose to grant Early Access to their courses, allowing you to get a head-start on coursework. Courses set to allow Early Access will become active in eLearning the day after grades are due for the previous term. Not all instructors choose this option. If your instructor has granted Early Access you will see a link to “Go to eLearning” under “Details” in the My Classes app in MyUWF:
The University of Florida (UF) provides e-Learning for the benefit of the students and for the instructors in the core missions of teaching and learning, research, and extension by researching, adopting, and supporting campus-wide, Internet-based systems. This is the most effective learning process for the students provided by the University of Florida. The University of Florida provides few e-learning tips to the students who enrol in the course. The students often enrol themselves and chose “limit to section” during the enrollment process. It is to make sure that the students have enrolled to the particular section or course not others.
There are many services available via myUFL such as travel and expense functions, time reporting, direct deposit and emergency contact information, and the student online payment system. The students can avail this service by accessing the portal.
UF offers undergraduate and graduate degrees at a number of off-campus, onsite locations throughout Florida. These programs are taught by UF’s top-ranked faculty, and students receive the same excellent academic, training, and research opportunities.
