According to a report by the Electronic Frontier Foundation, large amounts of personal data on children is collected by electronic devices that are distributed in schools in the United States. Often far more information than necessary is collected, uploaded and stored indefinitely. Aside name and date of birth, this information can include the child’s browsing history, search terms, location data, contact lists, as well as behavioral information.[180]:5 Parents are not informed or, if informed, have little choice.[180]:6 According to the report, this constant surveillance resulting from educational technology can “warp children’s privacy expectations, lead them to self-censor, and limit their creativity”.[180]:7

If you are sending an attachment to respond to the student’s email in e-Learning from your email client (such as outlook)?, this attachment will be stripped from the email once it enters e-Learning due to the security reason by Instructure Canvas. Digitized communication and networking in education started in the mid-1980s. Educational institutions began to take advantage of the new medium by offering distance learning courses using computer networking for information. Early e-learning systems, based on computer-based learning/training often replicated autocratic teaching styles whereby the role of the e-learning system was assumed to be for transferring knowledge, as opposed to systems developed later based on computer supported collaborative learning (CSCL), which encouraged the shared development of knowledge.

If all information is correct, then the system will automatically create the course. Remember, the course will be created with the Course Title exactly as it has been entered in the Course Title form field. The automatic course creation process is performed 10 minutes after the hour, 30 minutes after the hour, and 50 minutes after the hour.
